Adam Peacock believes a decision has been reached on FFA Board elections

It’s a huge day for Australian Football with a new era about to begin on the back of today’s FFA Board elections.

Chairman Steven Lowy and Joseph Healy are both resigning, while directors Simon Hepworth and Chris Nikou have both completed their terms.

Craig Foster – thought to be a huge chance to be selected on the Board withdrew earlier this week from the race – claiming he didn’t have the support to win it.

It leaves 10 candidates in contention to be elected for the four positions on the Board.

Fox Football’s Adam Peacock believes a decision has been made internally already.

“I’ve got a feeling with the withdrawal of Craig Foster for instance, he kind of knew the game was up days beforehand,” Peacock said.

“I’ve got a little feeling all of this was locked away, pretty much all the plot ticking and stuff that goes on behind closed doors – which is real politics that went on weeks ago and it was pretty much decided a week or two weeks ago.

“We’ll find out the names, and now it’s up to them to total accountability because the sport does need to go forward.”

The Football Federation Australia AGM begins at 2PM AEDT.
