Adelaide playing group “feed off’ Sloane’s energy

Adelaide Crows assistant Josh Francou has lauded Rory Sloane’s leadership qualities as the star midfielder committed to the club long term.

The 28-year-old signed a five-year deal with the Crows earlier this week, rebuking reported interest from a number of Victorian clubs.

Francou told Afternoons Sloane’s re-signing was a “huge boost” for the entire playing group and was committed to help re-pay the faith the onballer showed in the club.

“When Rory plays, his actions speak for themselves,” the Crows assistant coach said.

“Players like (Sloane) give other players around them a huge amount of confidence and he’s someone who provides a great deal of support both from a verbal and physical sense.”
