Andrew Brayshaw’s father backs an AFL red card

West Coast’s Andrew Gaff will not play for the Eagles again this year after he was handed the biggest AFL suspension in a decade – 8 weeks. Gaff pleaded guilty to the intentional, severe and high strike on Fremantle’s Andrew Brayshaw off the ball, which left the Docker requiring surgery for a broken jaw and three displaced teeth. Gaff was distraught after the verdict was handed down and his remorse extended to the teams, the code, the fans and Andrew’s family.

Andrew’s father, Mark Brayshaw, is a former AFL footballer himself and is currently the CEO of the AFL Coaches Association. His sons Angus, Andrew and Hamish are all currently on AFL lists. A compassionate Mark, spoke to David Morrow and Tiffany Cherry on Macquarie Sports Radio Mornings.
