Andrew Gaze’s concern about the media’s access to players

MACQUARIE SPORTS RADIO AFTERNOONS

Andrew Gaze thinks the media is becoming too intrusive.

Channel 7 took player access to the next level on Sunday, speaking to Brisbane star Luke Hodge while he was on the bench.

And it sparked debate on Macquarie Sports Radio.

Shane McInnes: Is it too intrusive?

Andrew Gaze: I think it is. Does it really add to the game?

“They’re just saying words to say words, not to enlighten us,” Gaze said.

“When is a player ever going to give you something that really is important?

“To me, it almost deteriorates the game.”

Shane said it’s only appropriate to speak to senior, experienced players during a match.
