Aussie tennis great in favour of shot clock
Aussie tennis great Todd Woodbridge has called for a shot clock to be introduced into the game.
A 25-second shot clock was implemented for the Rogers Cup in Canada last week, while it was also trailed during 2018 Australian Open qualifiers earlier this year.
“The players are supposed to abide by the time-frame that the shot clock delivers,” he said on Afternoons.
“It’s obvious, even in my time playing, that the top players manage to influence things in their favour. The shot clock is something we could should use.
“It would be great from a drama point of view if you got to the end of a long fifth-setter and the shot clock decides a point.”
