DAY FIVE

OPENING SESSION – DAY FIVE

The Australians have headed to lunch on the final day needing 137 runs for victory.

The morning started well for the Aussies, with Shaun Marsh notching up his tenth Test 50. He and Head were then dismissed in relatively quick succession, though, and it appeared the Indians might wrap the contest up before lunch.

Captain Tim Paine has dug in, scoring 40 runs from 68 deliveries. He is currently joined at the crease by Pat Cummins, who has survived two reviews and has scored 5 from 38.

An interesting second session awaits!

SECOND SESSION – DAY FIVE

The Aussies return from lunch and almost immediately lose the skipper, Paine, who is caught by Indian keeper Pant after a thick top edge. He departs for 41 after an encouraging innings. Australia languishing at 7/187.

Tail-enders Cummins and Starc put on a handy partnership of 41 before Starc edges one to Pant. Indians looking to clean up the tail quickly. 8/228

Cummins part of another decent partnership, this time with Lyon, before beings dismissed by Bumrah. Fantastic catch by Indian skipper Kohli. 9/259

Hazlewood and Lyon put on a further 31 runs before the Aussie quick was dismissed for 13. Lyon remains unbeaten on 38.
