Author Geoff Lemon on the ball tampering bans

Author of Steve Smith’s Men, a book about the ball tampering scandal that rocked Australian cricket earlier this year, Geoff Lemon joined Sam and Clinton on Weekend Afternoons to discuss his book, and the recent campaign to overturn the bans handed to Smith, David Warner, and Cam Bancroft.

Lemon believed it was the right decision not to overturn the bans, saying it was strange that it was challenged in their first place.

“There would’ve been a huge amount of backlash in terms of people seeing it as expediency and trying to let the national team win rather than doing what was right

“It was strange thing to even challenge in the first place, the bans weren’t contested when they were handed down. The players had the right to take it to a hearing and they chose not to do that.
