Cricket Australia wants a rise in participation
Cricket Australia is to invest $32m in 3 years to grow and support community cricket.
Julian King asked Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager for Community Cricket, Belinda Clark, whether too much money was divided to the professional arm rather than to the community, grass roots level.
“They (the board) have backed us, they have been listening to the community, they want to help” Belinda replied. ” I don’t think many high performance programs would have seen $32M pumped in to them on top of what they already spend”.
She also confirmed that investing money isn’t going to make all the difference, “We still need to connect with people, sharing ideas and activating the community”.
