Brandon Starc on a high after equalling National Record
High jumper Brandon Starc has equalled the Australian record of 2.36 metres, set by Tim Forsyth in 1997.
Starc has told Julian King, the secret to his success at the meet in Germany was wearing his lucky miss-match socks.
“I absolutely did (have them on)…and the miss-match shoes as well.”
This result, on top of his Commonwealth Games Gold earlier this year, has Starc hoping to get onto the Olympic podium in 2020.
“I’ve still got more to give in terms of technique and strength. I think I’ve got a real good chance in Tokyo, for sure.”
