Bulldogs CEO Ameet Bains denies rift reports

sunday sport

Western Bulldogs CEO Ameet Bains strongly rebutted reports of a rift within the team in an interview before their win on Sunday.

Bains told Sunday Sport he was “frustrated and disappointed on behalf of the club” following comments on The Footy Show last week.

“If that narrative persists, and I suppose there’s substance to it, then obviously it becomes incredibly challenging but we don’t have those concerns at the moment,” he replied when asked if he felt the news would affect recruitment.

The Bulldogs have gone through a raft of personnel changes both on and off the field with relation to list management since their 2016 premiership win.

“The playing list compared to the 2016 grand final is very different … I think we are the least experienced team by 20 games, average,” he said.

However, he claimed the “club has not been healthier in an off-field sense”.

“(We had) record membership last year, (we have) no net debt, (we are) attracting amazing corporate partners.”

The Bulldogs went on to record their first win for the season, defeating Essendon by 21 points on Sunday afternoon.
