Calan Williams wants to be our next Formula One World Champion

17-year-old Calan Williams could be the next big thing in Formula One.

The Perth teenager is following in the footsteps of Daniel Ricciardo, and he spoke to Julian King about the long, exciting road ahead.

“This is my dream that I’m following. The goal we set for the coming years was to be on the Formula One grid by 2021 and then the ultimate goal is to become World Champion in a couple of years from there. It’s certainly ambitious but if you don’t have ambitions you won’t get anywhere near it.”

Calan has recently returned from competing in the Euroformula Series at the famous Spa Circuit in Belgium, and people took note of the Aussie’s performance.

“It simply is an incredible circuit. It’s truly a pleasure to be able to drive on the circuit. It’s something you can’t be prepared for.”
