Calls for radical action after yet another crowd brawl

MACQUARIE SPORTS RADIO MORNINGS

Tiff Cherry has called for alcohol to be banned at the AFL.

It comes after reports of yet another brawl in the crowd, this time at the St Kilda v Collingwood match on Saturday night.

Tiff said it’s time for radical action.

“We can’t have alcohol talking like this,” Tiff said.

“They’re not a regular occurrence, but they’re occurring, and that’s enough.

“You don’t have to drink during the match. You’re there to watch the game.”

Tiff’s Macquarie Sports Radio Mornings co-host David Morrow agreed the situation is “disgraceful”, but said it might be better to target the specific offenders.

“Once you get rid of the element, there’s a chance you might stop it altogether.”
