Can Australia win the World Cup of Golf?

Cameron Smith will make his World Cup golf debut with Marc Leishman at Metropolitan in Melbourne later this month.

The world No.33, who won his first major on home soil in the Australian PGA last year, will be representing his country in the Cup, defending his championship, and competing in the Australian Open this summer.

He’s hoping to replicate Jason Day and Adam Scott’s 2013 performance which saw the pair take out the Cup for Australia.

Smith joined Clinton Maynard and Sam Stove on Weekend Afternoons, saying he can’t wait to play in front of his Australian fans, and will be heading straight to his home club in Brisbane.

“To try and grab one of those trophies is pretty nice,” he said.

He also revealed the pressure of trying to stay on the US PGA Tour and getting mistaken for the rugby league legend he shares a name with.
