Chappelli’s problem with world cricket’s power balance

Ian Chappell says India’s stranglehold on world cricket is presents a problem for the sport globally.

Speaking on Melbourne Breakfast ahead of the first Test beginning on Thursday, the Macquarie Sports Radio Cricket commentator said cricket should be governed by a neutral world body.

(India) bring in about 75 or 80 per cent of income for the ICC,” he said.

“The ICC is pretty useless, they don’t govern too much but I’d like to overall body running the game rather than each individual country (having a say).

“That’s one of the problems with cricket.”
