Chris Heighington finally hanging up the boots

Chris Heighington has played 334 NRL games and represented England at Test level, but the 35-year-old has announced he’ll retire at the end of the current season.

Speaking to Julian King, Heighington admitted he didn’t think he could’ve got through another gruelling pre-season.

“I can’t get greedy. You’ve gotta give it up one day. I just think it’s time,” said Heighington.

A premiership in 2005 with the Wests Tigers, and another drought-breaking title for the Sharks in the latter years.

“I had to work a lot harder for that second one, but it felt just as good.”
