Chris Waller: The Autumn Sun on track to take out Caulfield Guineas

Mark Levy and Richie Callander caught up with trainer Chris Waller this morning on the Macquarie Sports Radio Breakfast show, to talk up his chances over the Spring Carnival in Melbourne.

Waller has 2 of the 4 favourites in the Group 1 races in Melbourne tomorrow, including the Caulfield Guineas and the 2000m Caulfield Stakes.

So is he feeling any pressure to bring home all the trophies?

The champion trainer says his team will “try and start with one (winner), we’ve got some really good horses The Autumn Sun – he’s the star, he’s in the Caulfield Guineas and drawn well … (the race) is the right distance etc and he’s the benchmark horse”.

The star colt is the current favourite for Race 9 tomorrow in the Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas, a 1600m feature for three-year-olds tomorrow, and is on track to claim his third Group One win, having stormed home to win the Golden Rose at his last start.
