Eagles assistant Daniel Pratt takes us through the winning play

West Coast Eagles backs coach has opened up on the final play which resulted in Dom Sheed match-winning goal.

Speaking on Halftime with James Willis, Pratt admitted he had to watch the crowd’s reaction as he was unsighted.

“The boxes are on the other side of the ground so from our angle, we couldn’t see whether (Sheed’s kick from the pocket) went through or not,” he said.

“We just watched the crowd and Sheed celebrate. The last eight to 10 minutes of the game we were really pushing and couldn’t hit the scoreboard hard enough.

“Dom kicks a goal like that – he’s a bloke that fought so hard to stay in the team or get back in the team.

“The reward for his effort in training over the last 10 weeks, for him to have that now against his name, it’ll go down in folklore.

“West Coast supporters will be buying him beers in pubs over the next few weeks and for the rest of his life.”
