North Melbourne forward Kayne Turner has sung the praises of unheralded teammate Ed Vickers-Willis.

After being drafted in 2014 at pick 36, the defender has  lined up in all four of North Melbourne’s games this season, averaging three marks and 12 touches in the opening month of the new campaign.

Speaking on Afternoons with Mieke Buchan, Shane McInnes and Sam Stove, the 22-year-old said his teammate “always got the job done” when given a task by coach Brad Scott.

“He’s becoming a really reliable defender,” Turner said.

“You know what you’re going to get from Ed every week. We love playing with him.

“He’s hard on his man and at the ball and that’s all we ask from him every week.”
