Emburey questions Finch’s position in Australia’s batting lineup
Former England cricketer John Emburey has questioned Aaron Finch’s suitability to open the batting for Australia.
The 32-year-old Victorian was dismissed for just three on day four after he made eight runs in the first innings of the Boxing Day Test.
Emburey told Macquarie Sports Radio Cricket Finch’s style of batting didn’t suit his current position in the batting lineup.
“You’ve got to look to get yourself in (as an opener),” he said.
“Aaron Finch wants to score runs and play away from his body.
“He hasn’t got the ideal technique of being really tight in defence for an opening batsman.”
