Emburey questions Shaun Marsh criticism

Macquarie Sports Radio Cricket

John Emburey is puzzled why Shaun Marsh is still being questioned.

The 35-year-old returned to Australia’s ODI side for Friday’s match against South Africa and the former English cricketer told Macquarie Sports Radio Cricket he found it “quite amazing” the level of scrutiny the veteran West Australian cops on a regular basis.

“People need to take pressure off him,” he said.

“He had a good summer against England last year and after he had a tough series in the UAE, all of a sudden people are questioning him.”

Mike Hussey explained the reasoning behind some of the Marsh criticism.

“Let’s say his last five to seven test matches, he hasn’t made a lot of runs,” he said.

“In the tour of South Africa, he didn’t make a lot of runs and certainly in the UAE, he couldn’t even really get to 10 and unfortunately that builds up pressure.”
