Former AFL coach calls for reduced game time

Former Gold Coast Suns coach Rodney Eade has urged the AFL to consider reducing the length of matches.

With the increase in stoppages over the last few years, games have been running longer, leading to concerns future generations are being turned off the game.

Eade urged the AFL  to consider the demands of modern football fans.

“I think our game’s too long,” he told Afternoons.

“I think society’s changed too much and we’ve got to be mindful of the younger market – do they become bored?

“We’re in the entertainment industry, it’s not just sport.”
