Glenn Rushton talks the talk ahead of River City Rumble
Jeff Horn’s Boxing trainer Glenn Rushton has laid down the gauntlet to Anthony Mundine ahead of the River City Rumble.
The fight between Horn and Mundine will be at Suncorp Stadium beginning at 10:30PM AEDT.
It’s set to be a career defining fight between the old bull and the young bull in what could be ‘The Man’s’ last professional fight.
On the contrary, a loss to Mundine for ‘The Hornet’ could put serious doubts on his future career aspirations.
But Rushton says he wants Horn to make a statement.
“I see this as being a lot, lot better fight than most people think,” Rushton said.
“I don’t see this being an easy fight, going up two divisions isn’t an easy fight.
“But we are determined to win and we’re determined to dazzle and I’m determined to have Jeff put Mundine on the floor and finish with a KO victory.
“They’re the sort of things I’m looking for from this fight that Jeff Horn dazzles, out-box’s, out-punches and KO’s Anthony Mundine something that Danny, Danny Green couldn’t do in two attempts and he’s a much a bigger man and also a world champion.
“We’re looking to do something spectacular to show that he’s back.”
How do the two fighters’ records match-up?
- Anthony Mundine – 43-years-old- 56 bouts, 48 wins, 28 KOs.
- Jeff Horn – 30-years-old- 20 bouts, 18 wins, 1 draw, 12 KOs.
Ray Hadley and Billy Dib will have full coverage of the River City Rumble on Macquarie Sports Radio from 10:00PM AEDT.
