Great news for the Bulldogs as a favourite son finally nears a return

Bulldogs premiership player Liam Picken is nearing a return to football.

Picken, 31, hasn’t played a game this season as he battles ongoing concussion issues.

But coach Luke Beveridge says there’s been some encouraging signs with his recovery.

“This is the first week he’s back in the full training program,” Beveridge said on Tuesday.

“We believe there’s a chance he may play not too long after the bye.”

Picken has played 198 games since his debut in 2009.
