Greg Alexander makes Dally M predictions

The Dally M award is the highest individual honour an NRL player can receive and tonight at the Star Event Centre in Sydney the 2018 awards are being held

Along with the prestigious Dally M for the best player in the competition are host of other awards such as Captain of the year, Rookie of the year and Coach of the year.

Winner of the 1985 Dally M Medal Greg Alexander gave a couple of his predictions for tonight’s event when speaking on the Macquarie Sports Radio breakfast show with Mark Levy and Mark Riddell this morning, “I went with Damien Cook early I (For the Dally M Medal Winner). I know South’s lost those three games towards the back end of the season so that might come against him but he had a great year and his form didn’t dip after Origin. He kept it up and those 9 wins that Souths had through the middle of the year, he would have polled pretty heavily in those. Tuivasa-Sheck, he just might get it. He had a terrific year and he’s my pick for Captain of the year. I  was just so impressed with the way Roger turned around his season as a skipper from last year to this year. Rookie of the year for mine was Jermayne Isaako just getting ahead of a number of others.

Coach of the year appears to be a 3 horse race and Greg outlined why he would be going with a coach whose side did not make the Grand Final. “Coach of the year for mine was Anthony Seibold just ahead of Craig Bellamy and Trent Robinson. I think Anthony Seibold has done a great job with Souths. Certainly with what football he got them to play. I think 13th or 14th they were ranked in all attacking stats last year, they were the best in that this year. So Seibold gets my nod as coach of the year”
