Haines twins land at Kangaroos in AFL Women’s Draft

Twins Chloe and Libby Haines have both secured their AFL Women’s future after they were picked up by the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos in Tuesday’s Draft.

Chloe was taken at pick 53 and shortly after, so was Libby at pick 56.

Libby joined Jules to discuss the amazing story and what it will be like to play alongside her twin sister.

“Obviously it’s been a dream for a while now,” Haines said.

“I was really hoping after Chloe got picked up at 53, my name would be picked next.

“So lucky enough it was, so a dream come true.”

The 18-year-old only began playing footy in Year 10, before a couple of years of club footy, but says she’s looking forward to the pre-season ahead.

“Just getting a game would be good and having a good pre-season,” Haines said.

“And just trying my hardest on and off the field and giving it my all.”

The 2019 AFL Women’s season will kick-off in early February.
