Israel Folau again shares anti-gay views on social media
Israel Folau has again sparked outrage by posting content on social media denouncing homosexuality.
The rugby star shared a link to a video of an anti-gay sermon from an American evangelist.
It comes just weeks after Folau suggested gay people would burn in hell for their sins on Instagram.
Former AFL star Jimmy Bartel shared his thoughts on Wednesday.
“I completely disagree with everything he says and stands for, first and foremost,” Bartel said on Macquarie Sports Radio.
“But we have a right in this country to say and believe what you like, but you’re going to get criticised – that’s the trade off.
“You don’t have to follow Israel Folau.
“You don’t have to follow his social media, you don’t have to click on the link and you don’t have to listen to a single word he says.”
However, Bartel said Folau was undoubtedly risking his financial future.
“The brands have every right to pull out if they think Israel Folau doesn’t represent their brand,” he said.
