‘It put them back a few years’: Waite opens up about Carlton’s woes

North Melbourne forward Jarrad Waite is confident his former club Carlton will see success soon.

Waite, who is preparing to play his 244th and final game on the weekend, told Afternoons the club was on the right track despite only notching up two wins this season thus far.

“The first couple of years were tough as I still have a lot of good mates there,” Waite said.

“It’s good to see how Charlie Curnow and Paddy Dow are going about it. It has been tough but there’s some light there and I’m sure Bolts has some things in place that’s going to help them.”

“Unfortunately what happened a few years ago, it’s probably put them back a few years but now they’ve got the right people in and a brighter future is not too far away.”

The 35-year-old played 184 games for the Blues before switching to North Melbourne at the end of the 2014 season.
