Jack Gunston not thinking about the risks of concussion

Hawthorn utility Jack Gunston is wary of thinking about the risk of concussion while playing.

St Kilda’s Koby Stevens – who has been ruled out for the remained of 2018 with concussion – opened up in an interview on Fox Footy on Wednesday night about his battle with its symptoms as debate continues to rage as to whether the league is doing enough to protect its players.

Speaking on Afternoons, the 26-year-old said “you’ll second-guess yourself” if a player thought about it during a match.

“I don’t think you’ll a find a player out there that’s thinking about it,” he said.

“If you think about it, you probably second guess yourself and it’ll be all over the news that you didn’t go hard enough.

“When you’re in the heat of the battle, it’s hard to stop and change your approach and not think about just the football.
