Jimmy Bartel says a new rule isn’t needed to ease congestion, an existing one just needs to be enforced

Brownlow medallist Jimmy Bartel says the AFL doesn’t need to introduce new rules to ease congestion.

He says the league just needs to properly enforce one that’s already there.

Speaking on Macquarie Sports Radio, Bartel said he didn’t want to see prior opportunity removed completely.

“I want correct disposal,” he said.

“How many times do you see somebody get tackled and the ball just flies out.

“That’s your responsibility. If you take the ball you’ve got to actually dispose of it correctly.”
