Lehmann: Lock in S.Marsh for Test #1
Shaun Marsh is a certainty to play in the first test match vs. India in Adelaide according to former Australian cricket coach Darren Lehman.
Yesterday in Tasmania, Marsh came in during the first over after Chris Lynn was out for a duck. He went on to score an impressive 106 off 102 balls. It was his third century from his last 6 innings’ in ODI’s for Australia.
Member of the Macquarie Cricket commentary team, Darren Lehman says Marsh has locked away his spot for the opening test match of the summer on December 6 in Adelaide “He played brilliantly yesterday and he played well in the Shield games, I think he is a certainty to play in the test side.”
Marsh came back into the Australian ODI side on Friday night after missing the opening game of the series vs. South Africa with an abscess in his buttock region. During his century yesterday, he hit 7 boundaries and smashed four 6’s including one caught by police officer “Frank”
“When he bats like that he is so good to watch and you just hope he transfers that into his test game.” said Lehman on Macquarie Sports Radio Breakfast.
