McDonald confident “resilient” Dees can cause upset

Melbourne defender Oscar McDonald says he’s “aware” of the hostile environment the club will face in Perth on Saturday afternoon.

Just 2,600 seats were sold to Melbourne fans, with the rest snapped up by West Coast supporters for the preliminary final at Optus Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The young defender told Halftime the club was intent on keeping the buildup as normal as possible.

“It’ll be all stock-standard and the same,” he said.

“We’ve had our backs up against the wall over the last couple of games, the Hawks made a late charge in the fourth quarter on Friday night and Geelong were pushing hard (in the elimination final) as well.

“We’ve shown we can be a resilient group when pushed and hopefully that comes out on Saturday afternoon.”
