McGrath is becoming “less and less” of a DRS fan

Macquarie Sports Radio Cricket

Former Australian bowler Glenn McGrath isn’t happy with the way teams are using DRS technology in Test cricket.

Speaking on Macquarie Sports Radio Cricket, he said he was becoming “less and less” of a fan of the referral system.

“When the DRS first started, I was a fan of it,” he said.

“If you use it well, you can win matches but if you use it badly you can lose them – and that’s not what it should be.”

“A lot of teams seem to burn a (review) and then save one for when they really need it.

McGrath floated a theory to make teams more accountable when using the technology.

“If you use one (review) and you’re turned down, the referral goes to the other team,” he said.
