NBL Officially Expanding

The NBL has taken official steps towards expansion.

The national league has been awarded licensing for a new team, expected to join for the 2019-20 NBL season the co-owner of EFL club Swansea City Romie Chaudhari holds the license and is looking for a home for his team. Melbourne, NSW, the Gold Coast, and Tasmania are among some of the locations that are being considered.

“We’ve had a number of bids and conversations over the last 12 months”

Kestelman stated that Chaudhari, “will not be a long process” in choosing where the team will be as there are many other aspects to establish with a new team.

NBL Executive Director Larry Kestleman joined Macquarie Sports Radio’s David Morrow and Tiffany Cherry to share this exciting news for the growing league.
