North Korea to bid for 2032 Olympic Games
North Korea will team up with South Korea to bid for the 2032 Summer Olympic Games.
Finer details will be determined in coming years as the two nations attempt to repair relations following decades of conflict.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have both agreed to formulate a joint bid.
The Koreas sent combined teams to this year’s Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, with similar teams planned for the 2020 Tokyo Games and other tournaments around the world.
A feasibility study is currently underway to determine whether Brisbane could also contend for hosting right in 2032. There has also been interest from groups in India and Indonesia.
