NRL Legend says Slater should not be suspended
Billy Slater is set to miss the NRL Grand Final due to a shoulder charge on Cronulla Sharks winger Sosaia Feki if found guilty by the NRL Judiciary.
The attempt at tackle has divided the Rugby League community, however, NRL Legend Glenn Lazarus has told Halftime with James Willis that he believes Billy Slater should not be suspended for the Grand Final.
‘It just makes me feel sick in the stomach we are going down this path, where we are prepared to suspend this super star for doing his job’
Whilst not condoning shoulder charges, Lazarus further went on to say that the Billy Slater tackle was not a conventional shoulder charge; which is something the NRL needs to address.
‘They get themselves in this trouble the NRL, because they respond to a massive criticism from the media and the public, they change a rule, but they don’t think about the ramifications’
