‘Pick 4 won’t be involved in a deal for Dylan’ – Saints list boss confirms first rounder not on the table
New St Kilda list manager James Gallagher says that pick 4 will NOT be involved to secure Dylan Shiel should the Giants superstar choose to play at Moorabbin next season.
“No, it is incredibly unlikely, we won’t be using Pick 4 to get Dylan Shiel. We are pretty confident we can get the deal done without using pick 4.”
It means that the Saints will have to find a way to get the Giants gun to Moorabbin. Gallagher believes that the talent in this years draft is far too good to pass up.
“There is a lot of top end talent in this draft, and we are confident we can find a really good player at pick 4. We will be going to the draft with pick 4.”
Gallagher did confirm the clubs interest in Dean Kent, saying that “he really fits what we are looking for. Dean is a priority of ours. ”
He also says that there will be no swap of picks in the first round and the Saints will definitely pick the 4th best talent in the country.
Gallagher: “We will be going to the draft with pick 4. We won’t be doing any pick swaps. The talent is special this year. We will use that pick this season.”

Finally, Gallagher says that the Saints had no interest in injury prone Cat Daniel Menzel or Premiership Tiger Jacob Townsend.
“Not initially, we have a number of small forwards and we think it is one of our strengths and we have some depth in the small forward area.”
