Playing for Australia is the “best thing ever”

Australia will be out to atone for a dismal display in Perth on Sunday in their opening One Day International match of the Australian summer against South Africa.

Sent into bat, Australia were bowled out for 152 from 38.1 overs. South Africa reaching the total in 29.2 overs to take a 1-0 series lead.

Travis Head failed to fire on Sunday, scoring 1 run from the 9 balls he faced and was the first wicket to fall in the game.

Speaking to Macquarie Sports Radio, tomorrow Head has the opportunity to respond and let the bat do the talking in front of his home crowd on his home ground at the Adelaide Oval. “This is the best thing ever playing at the Adelaide Oval

For me, things don’t get any better.”

“It’s the same for anyone walking out in front of your family and friends, I’ve had the opportunity to do it twice, I’ve done pretty well twice. I’ve got to make sure I do it well again.” said Head

From his 40 ODI’s for Australia, twice he has scored runs at the Adelaide oval posting scores of 128 vs. Pakistan in 2017 and 96 vs. England in January of this year.

“I can’t wait, I’m so excited”

The Gilette One Day International Series continues in Adelaide tomorrow on Macquarie Sports Radio with Bruce Eva, Mike Hussey, Darren Lehman and more, the first ball at 2pm.
