Teenage sensation poised to take the Spin King’s throne

Lloyd Pope is likely to call the SCG home for the foreseeable future.

Pope, the latest leg spinner who has been compared to Shane Warne, has opted to move away from South Australia and join the Sydney Sixers for the Big Bash League.

Pope made headlines with 8-35 against England in this year’s under-19 World Cup then again caught the world’s attention with 7-87 in one Sheffield Shield innings against Queensland.

Speaking with Macquarie Sports Radio’s Mark Levy and Mark Riddell, Pope said that he was “happy to be put in the same frame as Shane Warne”

Lloyd was also quick to point out the the Sydney Sixers uniform is definitely NOT pink.
