Power CEO says Aussie Rules is making inroads in China
Port Adelaide insists Aussie Rules is gaining traction in China.
As the Power prepare for their second match in Shanghai, CEO Keith Thomas told Macquarie Sports Radio he’s seeing evidence that locals are picking up the game.
“We have a schools program in play,” Thomas said on Tuesday.
“There’s 21 schools in Shanghai who are actively engaged with our program, like an Auskick equivalent.
“We think we can turn that into 100 schools.
“They’re practical things we are doing to build presence.”
Thomas said he expects the match against Gold Coast to be watched by around 10 million people on television.
