Robertson ignites QClash with “soft” comments
Brisbane Lions defender has ignited the QClash rivalry ahead of Saturday night’s showdown at Metricon Stadium.
The fiery defender told Afternoons the Gold Coast Suns were “soft”, emphasising there is a genuine rivalry between Queensland’s two AFL teams.
“We both can’t stand each other,” he said on Macquarie Sports Radio.
“I’m looking forward to getting stuck into them on the weekend and to be completely honest, I reckon they’re soft.
“It’s just a rivalrly, they reckon they’re the team in Queensland and so do we.

Robertson didn’t stop there, doubling down on his criticism of the Suns when quizzed further on the emerging rivalry.
“I think they take a bit of backwards step when blokes go hard at the footy,” Robertson said.
“I hope they hear that too.”
But his head coach Chris Fagan wasn’t happy, confirming to 3AW’s Sportsday he spoke to Robertson later on Thursday after being made aware of the comments
“I was none too happy…at all,” he said.

“It doesn’t reflect our view of the Gold Coast Suns, more Nick’s feeling towards them.
“I think if he had his time over again, he’d take those words back but they’ve popped out nevertheless and it’s great motivation for the Gold Coast Suns so it’s something we’ll have to prepare for.
“He’s probably gone off and said those things and now regrets them but now he’ll learn a valuable lesson from it. He’ll have to front up on the weekend and it’ll be on so he’s just going to have to put his head over the footy and play tough.”
