Robyn Maher on Aussie youth basketball: “Probably the best in the world”

Robyn Maher is a former Opals captain and an inductee of the Australian Sports Hall of Fame. She joins Macquarie Sports Radio’s James Willis to share her feelings of such an honour.
We speak the recent explosion of Australian basketball and athletes such as Liz Cambage, Ben Simmons, Matthew Dellavedova, and Joe Ingles in the NBA and WNBA and how it has trickled down a new wave of popularity for the sport in our youth and viewership.
Our Opals had an incredible campaign in the recent FIBA World Cup only losing to the USA in the final.
Robyn said about the campaign the Opals are, “pretty exciting coming up to 2020 that the girls could get within that amount of points to the USA when they have so many rookies in the team.”
