Rugby Sevens is booming in schools: former Wallaby hired to coach at Pymble Ladies’ College
If there was any doubt about the boom of Rugby Sevens and Women’s Rugby in general, it’s now been put to rest.
Over 80 girls at Sydney high school Pymble Ladies’ College have taken up the game. The school is taking it so seriously, they’ve hired former Wallaby Julian Huxley as their Rugby Sevens Head Coach.
The school will also host the Schoolgirl Rugby Sevens Competition for Independent schoolgirls in the second half of the year.
Julian spoke to Mornings’ David Morrow and Tiffany Cherry on Macquarie Sports Radio about the growth of the game, and his incredible story of coming back from a brain tumour to once again play sport at the highest level.
