Schwarz calls for changes to Australian golf calendar

David Schwarz has outlined the problems with the Australian Open Golf tournament.

The four-day event will take place at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney over the weekend but the likes of Jason Day and Adam Scott won’t be competing.

“There’s not enough cash, the date is seriously wrong and it’s not co-sanctioned from any tour of worth,” he said on Macquarie Sports Radio Drive.

“It’s got to go to the European tour, they’ve got to do a deal to play all the major Australian tournaments in February and then go off an play in New Zealand in the following week.

“The month of February has to be the month of big golf tournaments.”
