Cronulla Sharks CEO Barry Russell has told Macquarie Sports Radio the club has no plans to sell to a private owner.
Russell recently met with businessman Michael Ibrahim who has previously expressed interest in buying the Manly Sea Eagles or St George Illawarra on behalf of Middle Eastern investors.
The Sharks have long struggled financially however are in a stronger position since the development of land surrounding their Leagues club began.
Russell says a sell off is not part of the club’s plan and the group is not looking for outside investors.
Russell has also confirmed the rebuild of the Leagues will begin at the end of next year.
