Shift AFL House to Queensland: Warner
Mick Warner has floated a unique idea to further expand the national footprint of the AFL.
The Herald Sun reporter said he would shift the league’s headquarters from its current Docklands base in Melbourne to the Gold Coast in order to aid relations between the AFL and the eight non-Victorian clubs.
It would mirror the ICC’s model, when cricket’s head body moved its offices from Monaco and Lord’s to a central hub in Dubai in August 2005.
“I’d move the administration out of Melbourne,” Warner told Melbourne Breakfast.
“It’s a national game.”
