Macquarie Sports Radio’s BetEasy Racing National Show

7:00-7:45am Saturday

Each Saturday morning legendary racing media personality, Bryan Martin, is joined by Tim Guille,  to bring Macquarie Sports Network listeners their weekly ‘Racing Fix’ via a dedicated program about the ‘Sport of Kings’.

With access to the most influential stakeholders in the game, Bryan and Tim will entertain listeners with incredible interviews and insights, previews of Saturday race meetings across the country and live markets and specials via the shows corporate bookmaking partner, BetEasy.

Bryan Martin

Bryan’s love of racing has spanned over 50 years. Most known for calling 29 Melbourne Cups and calling his own horse to win the Cox Plate, Australian’s associate Bryan’s name with racing every day.

He kicked of his calling career by practicing on the kitchen table in his family home growing up and scored his first media ‘break’ working in the mail room at 3AW in 1966. Bryan has worked in radio his entire life. He joined 3UZ in 1972, moved across to 3DB in 1984 and then to Sport 927 taking over the position as number one race caller from Bill Collins in 1988. He was chief race-caller for TVN from 2005 to 2007 and resumed back into radio at SEN in 2010 until retiring in 2017.As well as race-calling in 9 countries around the Globe and every state of Australia he has hosted radio talk-back and racing programs for over 30 years.

Recognised by not only the public as brilliant in his field, Bryan was awarded Order Of Australia Medal OAM in 2011 and the Australian Sports Medal for services to the Horse Racing Industry in 2000.

Bryan has won a number of prestigious awards during his racing media career and chaired the Australian Racing Hall of Fame for 10 years. Bryan is also currently in his 5th year as ambassador of the Lexus Melbourne Cup, touring Australia and New Zealand with the cup.

Tim Guille

Even though Tim has been in Racing Media for a short time, his passion, knowledge and enthusiasm has quickly accelerated his opportunities and standing in the sport. Tim’s love of racing dates back to his early childhood, where he would watch the Melbourne Cup with a makeshift whip on his rocking horse.

A compelling story teller, journalist, radio host, vibrant event MC, racing administrator and unique form analyst, Tim’s enthusiasm for the ‘sport of kings’ is remarkable. And it is only rounding the home turn.

In addition to the last 5 years honing his journalistic skills in racing print media across Australia, Tim spent the last 18 months working with Bryan at a Melbourne Sporting radio station on the weekly radio show.

Tim recently joined the team at one of Australia’s leading racing publications, Best Bets, as one of their tipsters and analyst. A true testament to his knowledge of the racing game.  Tim is one of the new breed of racing media that is changing the game by making it engaging, accessible and entertaining.
