Socceroos feel like they deserve more than one point

The Socceroos’ destiny is out of its hands to a degree, thanks to a loss and a draw so far in Russia. Luke Casserly, who’s part of the Australian coaching set-up, has told Julian King the players feel as if they deserved better.

“Bit disappointed to not have more than one point to show so far. The penalty against France, we feel a little bit hard done by there. We feel we should have a little bit more to show for our output.”

Australia needs to defeat Peru and hope that France downs Denmark. That match will be played at the same time, and the Aussie camp will be keeping close tabs on how it’s panning out.

“No doubt I’ll have a cheeky look at the other game but regardless of what happens elsewhere, we have to win this game. We have to win it’s as simple as that.”

Casserly has declared Tomi Juric fit to play, should he be selected to replace the injured Andrew Nabbout.

“Look I think he’ll be fine. I expect him to be fine to step up if he plays.”
