Steve Smith admits ‘leadership failure’ but targets return to national team
Former Australian cricket captain Steve Smith has fronted the media today for the first time since the darkest period in Australian cricket.
Smith fronted questions on what went down on that day in Cape Town admitting he should have done more as a leader.
However, the 29-year-old has revealed he has been in good spirits and enjoyed watching his teammates fight it out on the field.
Smith also told reporters the relationship between he and David Warner is “fine”.
He also admitted his working to earn back the respect of the Australian public and is targeting a return to the 2019 Cricket World Cup, but refused to confirm whether captaincy was on his mind.
