A doctor for the Indian Commonwealth Games team has been issued with a warning after breaching a no-needles policy.
Days after syringes were found in the athlete’s village, the Commonwealth Games Federation has released the findings of its investigation.
A doctor for India’s boxing team incorrectly disposed of a needle which was used to administer a vitamin B injection to an athlete who was feeling unwell.
The Federation will issue the doctor with a “strong written reprimand”.
Games organisers are no doubt relieved; they had been hoping the case would be resolved ahead of Wednesday’s opening ceremony.
