The “absolutely damning” stat that explains Manchester United’s slump

Mark Allen & David Schwarz

If you think Manchester United look sluggish, you’re right.

It has come to light that United have failed to out-run a single opposition side in their first 14 Premier League matches.

Fox Sports football expert Daniel Garb said it’s “absolutely damning”.

“I reckon Mourinho has failed to adapt to the way football is played nowadays,” Daniel told Macquarie Sports Radio Drive.

“The teams up the top, it’s all about counter-pressing. It is swift, pacey counter-attacks.

“I think Mourinho is still managing in a way that was successful for him 5-10 years ago.”

United has won just one of its last four matches — a last-gasp 1-0 win over relative minnows Young Boys in the Champions League.

Garb also said Melbourne Victory were “electrifying” in their big win over Western Sydney.

“What a marquee Keisuke Honda has proven to be,” he said.
